Lauri Anderson is in her 25th year as a power tumbling instructor and is excited to finally have the opportunity to launch her own gym. Her personal experience includes formal gymnastics training from age four to eighteen, competing as a USGA-ranked gymnast from age ten through eighteen. As a high school competition gymnast, she won the Texas State Title in her junior year. In addition to her athletic training, Lauri began studying dance at age 7. She performed with the Dallas Ballet Center and with various local theatre production groups in Texas. She also performed with an independent competition dance team and was selected in a national competition, by the National Dance and Cheerleading Association (NCA), to be a member of the 1984 Aloha Bowl dance team. She cheered from junior high through college, including placing third with her Abilene Christian University squad in the 1988 NCA National Cheerleading Championships in Dallas Texas. In addition to cheerleading, Lauri also performed with the Flying Cats, a power tumbling exhibition team at ACU.
Lauri’s coaching experience includes six years of coaching all levels of team gymnastics at Cats Gymnastics in Abilene, Texas, as well as coaching and choreographing for area high school cheer squads in Texas. Since coming to Georgia, Lauri has been the choreographer and coach for the Shelton Dance Team for five years, and the choreographer and coach for the Moses Titan Cheerleaders for 2005-2006. Additionally she has coached, consulted, and choreographed for the Acworth and North Paulding youth competition cheerleading program.
Most recently, Lauri founded and directed the tumble program at CK DanceWorks for six years and also founded and directed a tumble program last year at Great Gig studio. She also served as the Head Choreographer of ADC (Acworth Dance Crew) a competition hip hop team and won numerous choreography and judges awards. Her sought after choreography has kept her busy throughout the Atlanta area. Last year Lauri also began a hip hop program at Mt Paran school as well.
Lauri has continued conducting tumble and dance clinics throughout the Atlanta area this year, but her heart is the private tumbling instruction and getting to know her students. After seeing a huge need for positive and motivational tumble instruction, she started her own private tumbling business eight years ago, which has what has been the inspiration behind starting her own gym. She is grateful to her faithful supporters who have encouraged her through every step of this journey. She believes this is the exact path that God chose for her, and takes seriously the opportunity to pour into these young ladies and gentleman, and to be a good role model for them.
